intacs® certified Automotive SPICE® Cybersecurity Engineering

Automotive SPICE® for Cybersecurity extends the standard with six new processes. This course introduces the extension and enables participants to apply it — extending assessment expertise into cybersecurity, and analysing development processes for it. intacs® certified assessors who take this course and pass the exam are qualified to lead an assessment using Automotive SPICE® for Cybersecurity.

What it covers

  • Cybersecurity foundations: motivation and goals, and how it differs from functional safety
  • The standards landscape — UNECE, ISO/SAE 21434 and others
  • Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA), and cybersecurity implementation
  • Test methods, including penetration testing
  • The six model processes in detail — ACQ.2, MAN.7, and SEC.1 through SEC.4
  • What cybersecurity changes about existing processes: the ACQ, SYS, SWE, SUP, MAN.3 and MAN.5 families, and capability levels 2 and 3
  • Exercises and exam preparation

Practicalities

How certification works

The exam is not ours to award, and the distinction matters — we teach the syllabus and prepare you for an examination administered elsewhere.

The exam is administered by the VDA QMC — for most courses

Not by Envorso. Examination fees are additional to the training price, and the current fees are published by the VDA QMC. Online examinations are run over Zoom, and a working webcam is mandatory. Two courses differ and say so on their own entry: SPICE for Mechanical Engineering is examined by ECQA, and the Automotive SPICE® 4.0 Upgrade has no examination.

Certification is applied for separately

After passing, participants apply to the VDA for certification themselves. That step is independent of the training, and it carries its own fee.

Taught by practising assessors

Every course is delivered by experienced intacs® Certified Principal Assessors with real assessment practice behind them, who are also accredited intacs® instructors. Not by trainers who only teach.

What a place includes

Training documents and a confirmation of participation. Material is in English. For online delivery everything is supplied electronically as PDF.
