intacs® Certified Competent Assessor (Automotive SPICE®)

Prepares participants for the intacs® Certified Competent Assessor (Automotive SPICE®) examination — the grade that lets you lead assessments rather than support them. The course leans on experience exchange between participants, individual tasks and group work. Passing it requires three things: presenting topics assigned before the course starts, active participation in the practical components, and a multiple-choice examination at the end.

  • Requirements for assessment model conformity
  • Process and capability dimensions in depth, including the common pitfalls
  • Assessment planning: collecting assessment input, and writing the plan
  • Managing assessment teams, and handling extreme situations
  • Running assessments across distributed locations and countries
  • Reporting to project teams and to management
  • Coaching Provisional Assessors — qualification criteria and verification

Practicalities

How certification works

The exam is not ours to award, and the distinction matters — we teach the syllabus and prepare you for an examination administered elsewhere.

The exam is administered by the VDA QMC — for most courses

Not by Envorso. Examination fees are additional to the training price, and the current fees are published by the VDA QMC. Online examinations are run over Zoom, and a working webcam is mandatory. Two courses differ and say so on their own entry: SPICE for Mechanical Engineering is examined by ECQA, and the Automotive SPICE® 4.0 Upgrade has no examination.

Certification is applied for separately

After passing, participants apply to the VDA for certification themselves. That step is independent of the training, and it carries its own fee.

Taught by practising assessors

Every course is delivered by experienced intacs® Certified Principal Assessors with real assessment practice behind them, who are also accredited intacs® instructors. Not by trainers who only teach.

What a place includes

Training documents and a confirmation of participation. Material is in English. For online delivery everything is supplied electronically as PDF.
