Challenge:

A major OEM needed to boost its in-house development after acquiring 430 embedded development and hardware engineers from Blackberry across 8 sites in North America. ​

Solutions:

• Conducted an independent, comprehensive review of the acquisition and compared it against the best practices of other similar acquisitions in the industry. ​
• Defined future state recommendations that included organizational changes, integration processes, KPIs workload estimation, and management tools, and shared service consolidation opportunities. ​
• Proposed a new model to improve product development in terms of speed, quality, and capacity.  ​
• Recommended consolidating development to 3 primary sites, modernizing architectural vision, establishing end-to-end product line management capability, developing software release automation, reducing hardware and software variants, and enabling continuous delivery.
