A major OEM faced a critical opportunity to scale its in-house software capabilities after acquiring 430 embedded development and hardware engineers from Blackberry across eight North American sites. But with growth came complexity—spanning organizational integration, inconsistent processes, and the urgent need to align new talent with strategic goals.
Envorso led a comprehensive, independent review of the acquisition, benchmarking it against industry best practices. We developed a future-state blueprint that included recommendations for organizational redesign, KPI alignment, workload estimation, integration processes, and shared service consolidation.
To maximize efficiency and speed, we proposed a modernized product development model, consolidation of engineering to three key sites, and end-to-end product line management. Additional improvements included architectural modernization, release automation, and a significant reduction in hardware/software variants.
The results were both immediate and scalable. The next-generation architecture was released on time, throughput significantly increased, and productivity surged. With a streamlined structure and greater engineering agility, the OEM is now better positioned to lead in a competitive and evolving market.
“Envorso didn’t just integrate a team—they engineered a smarter, faster, and more future-ready organization."
